The more open you are with your family doctor the more your doctor will understand your concerns. It may help to make a note of your concerns before you visit your GP.

Remember, getting the best out of your visit with your family doctor improves your care, and having a regular doctor improves your long term care.
If you do have to visit another family doctor you can ask for a record of your visit.
To ensure you receive the best possible services, check that your GP is registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and that the general practice has CORNERSTONE accreditation.
